Personal Mail Needs the Booking Number
JSO requires the inmate’s name, 10-digit booking number and the sender’s name and address. This is another reason to save the booking identifier when you find the correct inmate record.
Legal mail is different. Do not send legal mail to the Maryland scanning center. JSO says legal mail must continue to be sent directly to the correctional facility where the inmate is housed.

Authorized magazine, newspaper and periodical subscriptions plus permitted paperback books continue to be mailed to the inmate’s facility under JSO’s current instructions.
