Find the Booking Record Before You Trust the Mugshot

Why Someone Can Have a Mugshot Without an Overnight Jail Stay
Hamilton County has a citation-in-lieu-of-arrest booking process for qualifying misdemeanor citations. That process can create fingerprints, a mugshot and an arrest-system entry even though the underlying procedure is different from being taken into jail for overnight detention.
HCSO says misdemeanor citation processing includes fingerprints, a mug shot and entry of the person’s information into the arrest system. The official Active Bonds report uses separate fields for docket number, defendant, status date, bond date and bond amount and organizes records in relation to bonding companies.
Do not use the Active Bonds PDF as proof that someone is currently incarcerated. It is a bond-reporting document. Current jail custody should still be checked through HCSO inmate information.
How Fresh Are the Court Dockets?
Hamilton County says Criminal Court dockets are generally updated every Thursday for the following week and the weekly master docket is updated every Monday. The county also warns that changes made to the original dockets may not be reflected on the online copies.
Verification rule: use a docket PDF to understand the scheduled case path, then call the Criminal Court Clerk when a hearing date, bond or disposition is important.

Hamilton County uses different criminal-court stages, and a booking can move from one court path to another.
