Placer Superior Court’s Online Portal allows the public to search case information without creating an account.
Search requirement: the portal requires a filing date or date range plus either a case number or party/company name.
Use the original filing date

The Sheriff changed personal inmate-mail processing on March 24, 2026. Old pages telling families to send ordinary personal letters directly to Auburn or South Placer Jail can now be wrong.
March 24, 2026 change: personal and business inmate mail moved to Smart Communications MailGuard processing. After the April 7, 2026 amnesty period, personal mail received at the detention facility is returned to the sender.

Send Money and Set Up Inmate Calls
Use the inmate’s jail ID and current facility before depositing funds.
Weekly commissary cutoff: mailed or drop-box deposits must currently be received by midnight Monday for that week’s commissary delivery.

Placer County has a time-sensitive property-release process that can matter immediately after booking.
First 72 Hours
Except during lockdown periods, the current rules allow an inmate during the first 72 hours after booking to make one of three release types:
- Motor-vehicle keys only
- All property except clothing
- Money
- Only one of these options during the initial period
After 72 Hours
After the initial period, the Sheriff limits the release process. Current posted property-release hours at both Auburn and South Placer Jail are Friday through Monday, 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
Call first: lockdowns and other facility conditions can affect property releases. Confirm the procedure with the correct jail before traveling.

CDCR states that CIRIS is informational and may contain errors, omissions or outdated information. It should not be treated as an official conviction record.
