Use Lafayette JADES the Right Way: Search the New Portal, Then Take the Correct Next Step
People still search Lafayette JADES mugshots, but JADES is the old local search name. Lafayette Parish Sheriff now routes users through the newer 365Labs Community Portal for LPCC offender information and recent bookings.
This page is built for action: find current custody, check last-72-hour bookings, understand a daily arrest report, schedule a visit, send mail, add money, check bail, request records, follow the court case, and switch to VINE or Louisiana DOC when the jail page stops answering your question.
Open LPSO Offender Information, then choose the right search mode
The Sheriff says the new system replaces former JADES and can show currently housed LPCC offenders plus offenders booked within the last 72 hours. The portal does not show results by default until you select the correct search option and click Search.
What Are You Trying to Do?
Exactly How to Search the New Lafayette JADES Replacement Portal
| Your question | Portal settings | What to do after results load |
|---|---|---|
| “Show all current LPCC inmates.” | Uncheck Recent Bookings. Leave First Name, Last Name and Booking No blank. Click Search. | Sort/scan the result list, then open the matching booking. Save booking number and status. |
| “Who was booked in the last 72 hours?” | Check Recent Bookings. Leave all three search boxes blank. Click Search. | Compare with the Daily Arrest Report if you need arresting agency, cause or incident number. |
| “Find one specific person.” | Use First Name, Last Name or Booking No. Check Recent Bookings only if the booking happened within 72 hours. | If no result appears, remove first name, try surname only, or search by booking number. |
| “I need release notification.” | Find the person first, then use the green VINE checkmark if shown. | If VINE does not auto-load the person, search VINE by Booking Number / ID Number. |
Why Old “JADES” Instructions Can Mislead Users
JADES was replaced
LPSO says the new jail management system replaces former JADES while keeping access to the same public information, except for a few features that may roll out later.
Use LPSO’s current portal path
Start from the Sheriff Offender Information page because it explains the current portal, agency selection, account/login step, Lookup Inmates option and VINE fallback.
Use the Daily Arrest Report When the Booking Is Fresh
The daily report is not the same thing as current custody. It is best for understanding what happened on a date: age, arrest time, address block, charge, arresting agency, cause for arrest, property and incident number.
| Field | Why it helps | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| Arrest date & time | Shows how fresh the arrest event is. | Use portal to check whether the person remains housed. |
| Arresting agency | Tells you who may hold the incident report. | Request reports from that agency, not automatically LPCC. |
| Cause for arrest | Explains the practical reason shown in the report. | Use court records for legal status and outcome. |
| Incident number | Useful for records requests. | Write it down before calling Records. |
| Property | Can show item categories logged with the arrest. | Ask LPCC/agency about property pickup rules if needed. |
How to Read a Lafayette Mugshot / Booking Record Without Misusing It
| What you see | Use it for | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Mugshot / image | A visual identity clue. | It proves guilt or is enough to identify a common-name person. |
| Booking number | Portal lookup, VINE fallback and records reference. | It is the court docket number. |
| Recent Bookings status | Last-72-hour booking search. | The person is still in LPCC without checking current custody. |
| Charge wording | Initial allegation context. | Final filed charge or conviction. |
| Arresting agency | Report request routing. | The Sheriff owns the report if a city police department made the arrest. |
| Cause for arrest | Plain-language event context. | Complete legal or evidentiary explanation. |
No Result Found? Fix the Search Before Giving Up
The portal may show nothing until you click Search. For all current housed inmates, uncheck Recent Bookings, leave all name/booking fields blank, then click Search.
Check Recent Bookings and the Daily Arrest Report. A new arrest can appear in one source before the other.
Search last name only. Names may come from the arrestee or arresting agency, and fingerprint verification may not be complete.
Move to VINE/LAVNS and court records. A person may leave LPCC while the case continues.
Use Louisiana DOC if the person is sentenced, transferred, or under DOC supervision. DOC locator does not cover ordinary pre-trial LPCC custody.
Use Lafayette Parish Clerk for district criminal/traffic records and Lafayette City Court for city-level matters.

| How are first-time visitors approved? | Visitor verification is required through the offender communications system. | Create/verify the account before requesting a visit. |
| What does a video visit cost? | LPSO lists $0.50/minute, may vary, in 30-minute blocks. | Check live vendor fee before paying. |

Money, Commissary and Phone: Which Route Should You Use?
LPSO says offenders can maintain a funds account for phone calls and commissary purchases. Do not send money through random payment pages; use the route shown by the Sheriff or the vendor linked from the Sheriff page.
| Need | Official route | Important warning |
|---|---|---|
| Mail a money order | Offender Name, Arrest Number, Cell Number; LPSO Attention: Commissary; P.O. Box 92590; Lafayette, LA 70509. | Personal checks, cashier checks and company checks are not accepted. |
| Deposit at LPCC | Cash or credit-card deposits at the 24-hour bonding lobby kiosk, LPCC, 916 Lafayette Street. | Confirm kiosk availability for urgent deposits. |
| Cash-only office route | 1010 Lafayette Street, 4th Floor. | Use published weekday office hours, not jail lobby hours. |
| Phone / video account | LPSO notes the inmate telephone service changed to Ally Telecom Group. | Use Sheriff-linked vendor route before entering payment details. |
Money deposit micro-steps
LPCC Personal Mail: Use the March 2025 Digital Address Correctly
Personal mail from family and friends is now digital. Mail is scanned and delivered electronically to the offender in the facility message app on the tablet.
Inmate Name / Inmate #
PO Box 16367
Jonesboro, AR 72401
Envelope must include full facility name and state, offender full name and unique identifier, plus sender full name and physical return address.
LPCC, PO Box 2537
Lafayette, LA 70502
This route is for privileged/legal mail only. Personal mail sent here may be returned.
How to Check Bail Without Paying the Wrong Way
Bail is separate from mugshot search. The Sheriff lists commercial bond, personal surety/W-2 bond and cash bond. Always verify current bond, holds and case status before paying.
| Bond type | How it works | Before you act |
|---|---|---|
| Commercial bond | Posted through a bonding company. LPSO lists typical fee as 12%, but it may vary. | Verify bonding company, total fee and current bond amount. |
| Personal surety / W-2 bond | Must be approved and authorized by a judge; picture ID required when signed at correctional center. | Do not assume family can sign until judge approval reaches LPCC. |
| Cash bond | Full amount posted by money order or cash; refunded after court appearance/adjudication. | Confirm full amount, holds and payment location first. |
After the Mugshot: Which Lafayette Court Record Should You Check?
| Your case clue | Where to go | What to look for |
|---|---|---|
| 15th Judicial District / parish criminal case | Lafayette Parish Clerk of Court / ClerkConnect. | Offense date, charge filed, case history, service, minutes and disposition. |
| Felony charge in Lafayette Parish | Clerk Criminal Department. | Filed formal charges, docket/caption, requested document title and copies. |
| Municipal / city matter | Lafayette City Court case search. | City court docket/status; reverify because city court data may not be real-time. |
| Released from jail but case continues | Court record, not inmate portal. | Hearing dates, filings, disposition and minute entries where public. |

How to Request a Lafayette Parish Sheriff Report
The daily arrest report often lists the arresting agency and incident number. Use those before requesting records. LPCC may house the person, but the incident report may belong to the arresting agency.
| Item | Published detail | User action |
|---|---|---|
| Records phone | 337-236-5845 | Call for Records & ID questions. |
| Records office | 303 West Vermillion St., Lafayette, LA 70501 | Check office hours before visiting. |
| [email protected] | Send specific report request details. | |
| Incident report | $10 plus $1 per page for supplemental reports. | Verify current fee if page has changed. |
| Daily booking report copy | $10 per report. | Use only if you need an official copy, not just online viewing. |
| Letter of incarceration | $5 per letter. | Useful when a formal incarceration confirmation is needed. |
Medical, Treatment and Programs: Useful Context Beyond a Mugshot
Care request context
LPSO states its Medical Department serves offender populations at LPCC and Direct Supervision Unit, including medical, dental and psychological needs.
Mental health and substance-use programs
LPSO describes treatment programs including mental-health services, substance-abuse treatment and therapeutic programming.
Programs and community transition
LPSO programs can include screening, pre-release, life skills, job-seeking education, treatment and community transition support.
PREA and Safety Reporting
Lafayette Parish Sheriff publishes PREA information for corrections safety. This page is not the reporting channel. Use official Sheriff, LPCC or emergency routes for safety concerns.
Call 911
Use emergency services for immediate danger or urgent safety threats.
Use official LPSO PREA route
Open the Sheriff PREA page and follow the current reporting instructions. Do not post safety allegations in comments or rely on a mugshot page for reporting.
VINE, LAVNS and Louisiana DOC: Use the Right Status Tool
| Situation | Correct tool | What to enter |
|---|---|---|
| Current LPCC custody | LPSO 365Labs portal. | Name or booking number. |
| Release notification | VINE / LAVNS. | Use green portal checkmark; if it fails, search VINE by Booking Number / ID Number. |
| Louisiana DOC offender | DOC locator phone route or DOC online tools. | DOC number or offender name plus date of birth. |
| Pre-trial LPCC inmate | Do not rely on DOC locator. | DOC locator is for DOC offenders, not ordinary pre-trial parish inmates. |
Release and custody alerts
LPSO says if clicking VINE from the portal does not show the offender automatically, choose ID Number on VINE and enter the portal Booking Number.
State custody search
DOC locator information is updated every 24 hours and can include housing assignment, facility contact and projected release date for DOC offenders.
Local Tips That Make This Search More Useful
If Lafayette Police made the arrest, the person may be housed at LPCC, but the incident report may not be an LPSO report.
The Daily Arrest Report can list multiple local arresting agencies. Use that field before requesting records.
Municipal matters and 15th Judicial District criminal cases do not always live in the same online record system.
A booking photo answers “was this person booked?” not “what happened in court?” Move to court records for outcomes.
