Can Someone Qualify for a Personal Bond?
Midland County Pretrial Services has screening criteria rather than guaranteeing a personal bond. The official guidelines say the defendant generally must be in jail on a Midland County offense, live in Midland County or within 50 miles, agree to attend court, provide valid identification and meet other eligibility requirements. First-degree felonies and a history of bond forfeitures can exclude a person unless a judge orders otherwise.
Personal Bond Supervision Continues After Release
Midland County states that people released on personal bond must comply with reporting and other bond conditions. Misdemeanor defendants generally report every other week, while felony defendants generally report weekly, unless the court orders a different schedule.
Release does not end the obligations. Failure to report as required can lead to bond revocation and a warrant.

These inmate-account fee tiers are listed the same for the lobby kiosk, telephone and web/counter-terminal methods. Bail transactions use a separate fee structure, so check the county’s live TouchPay table before making a bond payment.

Deposit problem? Midland County says people who deposited through the jail kiosk should keep the receipt and take it to the bonding area if the money does not appear. Online or telephone TouchPay problems should be directed to the provider’s support channel.
How a Midland County Cash Bond Refund Works
For cases above Class C misdemeanors, Midland County says a cash-bond refund may be available after the case is dismissed or resolved.

The Sheriff’s FAQ says inmates create their own visitation lists. The inmate must request that a visitor be added.
Attorney Visits Follow Different Rules
Attorneys of record may visit inmates privately between 7:00 AM and 10:00 PM seven days per week, except when the jail floor is unavailable for security, feeding or regular visitation.
Off-Site Attorney Video Visits
Midland County also permits scheduled off-site attorney/client video visitation. Those visits are not recorded or monitored as ordinary inmate calls are.

Property After Transfer to TDCJ or State Jail
The Sheriff’s FAQ says an authorized person will receive a letter explaining that they can pick up the transferred inmate’s property. Bring that authorization letter and identification.
Can You Bring Prescription Medication?
The jail FAQ says a prescription can be accepted only when the prescription is current and not expired. Call the Detention Division before travelling with medication.
Can You Bring Clothing?
The jail generally does not accept ordinary clothing or personal property. The stated exception is court clothing, which may be brought before a trial and picked up afterward.
