Photo availability: do not promise that every public inmate result will display a mugshot. OCDC separately identifies historical booking images as records that can be requested through Open Records.

The phrase “Jail Tracker” can refer to different Oklahoma County systems. This causes unnecessary login errors and failed inmate searches.

Do Not Identify Someone From the Name or Mugshot Alone
A same-name match can lead to serious errors. Compare multiple available identifiers before treating an Oklahoma County result as the person you intended to find.

Why an OCDC Release Can Take Several Hours
Posting bond or receiving a release order does not mean a person immediately walks out of the detention center.
OCDC says release can take several hours after release paperwork is received when there are no unusual circumstances.
What Must Be Completed Before Release?
Pickup planning: do not promise a specific exit time based only on a bond receipt or court order. Confirm current custody again before sending someone to the facility.
Check the Case Before Acting on an Oklahoma County Warrant
OCDC directs users to Oklahoma court-record systems to look for open cases and associated warrants. The non-custodial walk-thru process is a separate workflow and is not the public jail roster.

The detailed OCDC page says its appointment-booking workflow is intended for individuals going through a bail bondsman, individuals who have already paid cash at the courthouse and have a paid receipt, or attorneys with a judge’s order.

Public Defender and Legal Assistance After Booking
When legal representation is the real problem, continuing to research the jail roster is no longer the most useful next step.

OCDC’s legal-assistance page says a person who has not bonded out can have appointed-counsel issues addressed at the first court date or arraignment. A person who has bonded out and wants a public defender must apply and present the request to the judge; eligibility is ultimately determined through the court process.

OCDC Has Virtual Visitation—No In-Person Visits
OCDC’s current communication rules state that visitation is virtual. Its detailed NCIC page currently publishes the following rates.
ID and Account Rules
Users who want to send or receive messages, photos or video must provide current photo identification. OCDC says the ID can be rejected when it is unreadable or does not match the name on the account.

Do not video visit while driving. OCDC currently says this violation carries a 60-day communication restriction.

Ordinary personal mail is scanned in Longview, Texas. Legal and medical mail bypass that scanning center and must go directly to OCDC.

Books, Newspapers and Magazines
OCDC says magazines, newspapers, bulk mail and books are not accepted at the Longview scanning address. These items must be sent to the Shartel Avenue facility and follow the detention center’s current mail rules.
How to Add Commissary Money Without Using Stale Fee Information
OCDC currently contracts commissary through Benchmark and directs online deposits through JailATM.
Why there is no weekly spending figure here: OCDC’s older handbook contains a commissary spending limit, but the current live commissary page does not repeat it. Verify current limits directly rather than relying on an older handbook figure.
Current OCDC Medical Fees—and an Important Handbook Conflict
The live medical page is more current than the January 2024 resident handbook and should be checked when the two sources disagree.
Current Live Medical Fee Rule
OCDC currently lists a $15 medical care fee for a resident request, verbal request or incident that results in an assessment by licensed health-care staff.
The current page also says a family, friend, attorney or other outside inquiry can produce a $15 charge when that inquiry results in a licensed health-care assessment.
The fee does not block treatment. OCDC says health services are rendered regardless of ability to pay, and a fee deduction cannot bring the person’s trust-account balance below $6.
