Lafayette Parish no longer uses JADES as its main public jail-search system. The Sheriff now directs users to a 365Labs Community Portal for current LPCC inmates and recent bookings.

Which Lafayette Parish Record Should You Use?
Several Lafayette Parish systems cover different parts of an arrest. Using the right source first saves time and reduces wrong-person matches.
Fast path: arrest report → current/recent booking → bond or release → court case. Do not keep refreshing a mugshot page when your question has already moved to the court stage.
How to Search Lafayette Parish Current Inmates and Recent Bookings
The Sheriff’s detailed Offender Information page explains how to use the replacement 365Labs Community Portal. Registration or sign-in is required before using its Lookup Inmates feature.

This confirms you are using the new system instead of an old JADES bookmark or third-party repost.
Select LPSO if an agency screen appears
The official instructions specifically tell users to choose LPSO when the portal asks which agency to use.

Create an account using an email address and password, or sign in to your existing portal account.
Select Lookup Inmates
The system does not automatically show records. You must use the search controls and select Search.
For all current inmates, uncheck Recent Bookings
Leave First Name, Last Name and Booking No. blank, then select Search to load the currently housed LPCC population.
For recent bookings, check Recent Bookings
Leave the name and booking-number fields blank and select Search to use the current detailed 72-hour booking workflow.
For one person, search fewer fields first
Use first name, last name or booking number. If no result appears, simplify the search instead of adding more uncertain information.
Portal quirk: the Sheriff’s guide says no inmate information is displayed by default. You must select the Search button even when you leave all search fields blank.
48 Hours vs 72 Hours: Which One Should You Use?
Some broader LPSO Corrections overview text still refers to people arrested within the past 48 hours. However, the newer detailed Offender Information guide and replacement-system instructions explicitly define Recent Bookings as the last 72 hours.

JADES Is an Old Search Name, Not a Separate Current Jail
People still search “Lafayette JADES,” but the Sheriff states that the JADES jail-management system was replaced. Our Lafayette JADES mugshots guide explains that transition in more detail.
Important Limits of the Online Inmate Information
The Sheriff’s own disclaimer contains several details that are easy to miss but important when you are trying to identify the correct person.
Some Demographic Fields Are Still Missing
LPSO says the newer Community Portal may currently lack several demographic fields while the transition continues.

Name Information May Not Yet Be Fully Verified
The Sheriff’s disclaimer states that name information comes from the arrestee and/or arresting agency and that fingerprint, criminal-history or other identity-quality controls may not be complete when the report is generated.
Do not identify someone from name or photo alone. Compare booking number, arrest date, arresting agency, charge wording and later court information whenever available.
The Portal Is Informational, Not an Official Certified Record
LPSO’s disclaimer says the Internet Offender Information feature should not be considered or used as an official document. When you need an official or releasable copy, use the Sheriff’s Records Department or the Clerk of Court instead.
How to Use the Lafayette Parish Daily Arrest Report
The Daily Arrest Report answers a different question from the current-inmate portal. It is useful when you want to understand a recent arrest event by date.

The Sheriff also offers a subscription option for its Daily Arrest Report, which can be useful for someone who regularly needs local arrest-report updates.
Do not confuse “arrested” with “still in jail.” Use the Daily Arrest Report to confirm the arrest event, then use the Community Portal to check present or recent LPCC custody.
How to Verify the Correct Lafayette Parish Booking
A common name or similar-looking photograph is not enough. Match as many independent details as the official systems provide.

LPCC states that it processes approximately 12,000 arrestees each year and provides booking, identification and inmate-housing services for Lafayette and other local municipalities.
How Lafayette Parish Bond Options Work
The Sheriff’s current bail guidance lists commercial, personal surety and cash bonds. The type matters because the payment procedure is different for each.
Commercial Bond
A bonding company posts the bond. LPSO says the typical fee is 12% of the original bond, although the amount can vary between bondsmen.
Personal Surety Bond
Also called a W-2 bond. A judge must approve it, and LPSO says picture identification is required when the approved bond is signed.
Cash Bond
The full amount is posted using cash or money order. Refund is tied to court appearance and adjudication, minus applicable court-determined fees.

The newer Community Portal includes a VINE handoff. The Sheriff’s instructions also provide a useful fallback when the automatic link does not find the correct person.

Use the Community Portal and record the person’s Lafayette Parish booking number.

Select the VINE option beside the correct booking record.
If it fails, search VINE by ID Number
Select ID Number as the search type and use the Community Portal booking number.
Use notifications for custody questions. If you mainly need to know whether the person was released or transferred, VINE can be more useful than repeatedly checking a mugshot.
LPCC Personal Mail, Money and Phone/Video Services
Personal correspondence, legal mail and commissary money do not all use the same address. Sending something to the wrong address can cause delays or returns.

The Sheriff’s current commissary page lists a cash/credit-card kiosk in the 24-hour bonding lobby at LPCC, 916 Lafayette Street. Cash-only acceptance is also listed at 1010 Lafayette Street on the 4th floor.
Phone Calls and Video Visits
LPSO’s current corrections page says the inmate telephone service uses Ally Telecom Group. Friends and family can use the Sheriff-linked provider for prepaid accounts and video visits.
Confirm custody before paying a vendor. A person may have been released or transferred after the booking record you found.

When to Use the Louisiana DOC Offender Locator
The state locator is useful only when Louisiana Department of Corrections custody or supervision applies. It is not the correct search for a fresh LPCC pretrial booking.

LPSO states that the DOC locator is updated every 24 hours. Phone access is available at 225-383-4580. Users need the DOC number or the person’s name and date of birth.
Do not use the DOC locator for ordinary LPCC pretrial custody. The Sheriff says the state locator does not cover pretrial inmates or people serving parish or municipal sentences.

Why an Entire Criminal Investigation File May Not Be Released
LPSO states that criminal records are generally considered privileged until adjudicated or settled, and that certain categories can remain privileged afterward. Examples listed by the Sheriff include investigative reports, statements, sexual-offense victim-identifying reports, juvenile records, confidential-source information and security or investigative-technique material.
