Why a Utah County Mugshot Can Disappear
The public inmate-search page contains an important distinction between the photograph and the underlying booking information.
Official wording conflict: the search instructions currently say a name search covers past and present inmates in the last two years, while the additional-information section says booking information remains for one year after the photograph drops at 30 days. Because both statements appear on the same official page, this guide does not promise that every older booking will remain searchable for a specific period.
The practical takeaway is simple: a missing photo does not automatically mean the booking disappeared, and a missing older booking does not prove the person was never booked.

What to Do When a New Booking Is Not Showing
The Sheriff’s 24-hour publication policy means a person can have been arrested and booked without appearing immediately in the public search.
“I am trying to confirm whether [full legal name] was booked into Utah County Jail. The arrest was believed to occur on [date/time]. The person is not appearing in the public search yet. Can you tell me which official custody or booking resource I should use?”

The official booking page gives practical payment rules that are more useful than a generic bail estimate.
Before Trying to Pay Bail

- Confirm the current bail amount
- Check whether more than one charge or hold exists

The jail currently allows a credit card to be used for bail in person, with an additional transaction charge. It does not take credit-card bail payments over the phone.
The booking page also states that staff need the exact amount quoted, do not accept loose change or personal checks, and require cashier’s checks and money orders to be payable to “The Utah County Jail.”

The Sheriff’s current booking page states that the standard release time for a person who has been to court that day is 3:15 PM. The jail asks people waiting to pick someone up to wait until that time so staff can process court paperwork after the inmate returns to the jail.
3:15 PM is not a guaranteed release promise. Holds, paperwork, transportation, additional cases and other circumstances can affect the actual release.
Utah County Jail Video Visitation
Personal visits are handled remotely through Securus. Jail visiting staff no longer schedule ordinary family visits directly.

The visitor must create an AdvanceConnect/Securus account and complete the provider’s identity-registration requirements.
Allow video access
The Securus mobile setup requires video-call, camera and microphone permissions for incoming video visits.
Wait for inmate eligibility
The visitation FAQ says visiting is not available for the first three days of incarceration and may take longer. The booking page separately says it usually takes about 3–5 business days for an inmate to become eligible.
The inmate initiates the visit
Video visits are initiated by the inmate from the housing area, similar to an outgoing telephone call.

The Sheriff’s visitation FAQ currently states that inmates can initiate video calls from their housing areas between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM, depending on classification level and facility conditions.
Do not rely on a saved visitation schedule. Classification, discipline, lockdowns, technical problems and operational needs can affect video access.

The jail provides inmate telephone access for contact with courts, lawyers, families and friends. Securus is the current communication provider listed by the Sheriff’s Office.
Family and friends can establish a prepaid telephone account, and an inmate debit account can also be funded for approved outgoing calls.

Securus is not the commissary deposit system. The Sheriff’s inmate-services page specifically states that the Securus website and kiosk cannot be used to make commissary deposits.
What Happens When an Inmate Owes Jail Fees?
Utah County states that some or all money deposited into an inmate account can be applied to unpaid jail fees before ordinary commissary purchases are allowed.
Even when the inmate has debt, the Sheriff states that family or friends may still directly order basic hygiene items and stationery through the approved commissary provider.

UDC states that its offender search covers people who are currently incarcerated by or on probation or parole with the Utah Department of Corrections.
